Sleep: Part 2
I took a mid-afternoon nap
in only my socks.
Upright in the kitchen.
Sneaky sleep,
like a shark,
caught me quick in it's grip.
And the kettle is whimpering
for relief, my hand to rest
on it's neck.
But the mosquito
in my ear.
Stealing my
unconscious,
sucked the blood
from my toes,
making it
impossible
to stand.
